Welcome to Lindy Hop at East Dene Manor

A beautiful Victorian stone built mansion set in around 10 acres of woodland, gardens, and play areas, with superb sea views and direct access to Monks Bay. A fantastic venue for a relaxed weekend of Lindy dancing on the Isle of Wight 20-22nd April 2018

Gary Tewkesbury

Gary has been teaching Lindy for many years both in his home city of Portsmouth and also at Ryde on the Isle of Wight. He has a laid back style and likes to make sure the classes are fun as well as informative. As well as Lindy Hop Gary is an expert at Collegiate Shag.  If the weather’s not up to its usual standard, Gary will be giving one of his talks on the history of lindy hop and swing music.

Gary and Sara Boon

Well known teachers from “Gloster”, UK Lindy Hop Champions in 2004/5. Brilliant lessons full of fun and lots of technique taught. Gary (The Duke) also DJ’s and both Gary and Sara join in all the dance sessions and are great to dance with.

Andy Fleming and Lindsay

Andy has been teaching for 15+ years, and still loves it as much as ever. He has vast experience in helping newcomers take their first steps in Lindy, right through to helping top level dancers refine their technique.. He is a master of adding lifts, jumps and flips into dance, and has become the most experienced air steps teacher in the UK. Lindsay (Linz) has a background in Ballroom and Latin but realised that Lindy matched her personality.
