Lindy classes restarted on the Island in January 2014 and the small group supported this venture, headed by Gary Tewkesbury, Sandy and Malcolm Hector. In 2015 we held our first Wight Lindy Weekend supported by members of the Club. Following the success of that weekend we have booked East Dene for 2018 when we are running an event similar to 2015, 2016 & 2017.
Our aim is to have a relaxed weekend of dance lessons and dance events so that everyone can have some fun and maybe learn a few new moves as well.
The accommodation is dormitory style with mainly bunk beds, and there are rooms for 2, 4 and 6 people sharing. If you have a group and want to be together you can request a room of the appropriate size; most rooms will have spare beds to allow a certain amount of choice. For example, a six person room has ten bunk beds so only one person would have to use a top bunk, or indeed it could be just one person on a bottom bunk.
For those who desire a bit more privacy, there are some two person rooms available at an extra charge, and a one person room as well. East Dene has a very good chef and there will be breakfast, lunch and evening meal for the duration of your stay. Complimentary tea, coffee and water is available at all times.
There is also a small licenced bar that will serve beer, wines, soft drinks and a few spirits.
We will be having a break on Saturday afternoon to give everyone time to explore the surrounding area or to relax in the Manor’s grounds.
